Having Depression, Caring for Yourself, and Starting Your Business

Who doesn’t feel tired, lonely, awkward, scared, and empty sometimes? How about feeling this way all the time? How about trying to start a business when you have depression and are introverted? The best feeling in the world is feeling motivated and driven to something, but alternatively, the worst feeling is feeling inspired and deflated all at once.

I wanted to document my process since, I know, there are others like me. Starting and running a business is hard enough and managing it with depression is another level.

We all know that the internet is the main source of businesses nowadays. I have almost no social media presence, short of my family and old school connections, so I know my audience was limited. Network, they say; it will help you meet more people. Put yourself out there. Don’t be afraid to succeed. These are all things that I have heard and told myself many times over. Well, this is it. This is me putting myself ‘out there’. So, here’s my story on how I got here, oh, and we will also get into our feet….

 He is handsome, but his feet stink!  Ummm, call me vain, but I'm just saying, this is important. Imagine meeting the man of your dreams, you go out, have a great time, you are relaxing, then boom, he takes his shoes off and the funk hits your soul, then you realize...a critical decision must be made. Stinky Foot to the Core Now that we admitted that its a struggle to start a business while dealing with normal humanly things like work, kids, school, depression, anxiety, you name it and if you are like me, then you have been working on this in public and private for years.  One of the most common questions that I get when talking about Butterfoot is "Why feet?" Why not a facial or body cream?". I'm always perplexed by that question because I can’t be the only one who deals with foot issues on a regular basis. I have resolve in thinking that most people have either given up on their feet, don’t care, or are secretly struggling and are using other types of products to moisturize and clean their feet.  So, to me, my response is still, “Why Not?” I've smelt some stinky feet in my day. From sweaty smelly to dry and tart. I am a fan of wearing your shoes without socks. I know this is frowned upon. I do it anyway. I use to walk barefoot all the time. I know this...
